SweeTerra Farm 2015

Yesterday was out first day selling at the Market at Boyer’s Junction. It was a great day . We set a good marker to start the season.

Next week will even be better. Each week we hope to build on what our harvests yield with the weather in our favor…fingers crossed.

We are collaborating with smaller farms in the area to better compete in a thriving market. With NO spray and all naturally grown veggies we are finding our niche in our health conscious community.

As for our farm much research and reading has been most enlightening in our preparation and planning for 2015. I am telling everyone about the book titled “Experimental Study of Heavy Metals Distribution Attenuation and Mobility in Two Oklahoma Soils Amended with Sewage Sludge” by Kefeni Kejela. It can be found here https://books.google.com/books?id=NrtsNwAACAAJ&dq=heavy+metals+in+soil+study+book+Kefeni.Kejela&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CDAQ6AEwAGoVChMIucWe2P6PxgIVTwuSCh0yDQN7 . Very important read for every gardener, farmer and the intelligent consumer. It was my greatest find in books to understand there is a point of no return with heavy metals in our soil. Finding the history of your soils in your different fields is a must to know what is feasible with human consumption being paramount. This seems obvious but the mobility of contaminates can surface with water log conditions that may change the composition of the soil with out our awareness and the studies that confirm the unseen are imperative to acquire information to constantly question our soil content. Heavy metals accumulate and do not necessarily filter through soil as many do not take into concideration.Sweeterra is way ahead of the program with testing proving our soil great and healthy. NO contamination here!!

I am sharing my findings through my readings to others and I hope they will share theirs with me. More on “Experimental Study of Heavy Metals Distribution Attenuation and Mobility in Two Oklahoma Soils Amended with Sewage Sludge” by Kefeni Kejela. later……….
